Micro Cruiser Griptape: Frosty Blue

Replacement grip tape is suitable for the Micro Cruiser Scooters only. You will need to remove old grip tape in order to stick the new grip tape on. Grip tape is supplied in one piece.

Removing and applying the grip tape:
  • Put the scooter on a bench or table so that you can work at a comfortable height.
  • Wearing protective gloves, take a hair dryer / heat gun and gently apply continual warm heat to the existing decks grip tape. Start to peel at the corners taking care that the deck is not too hot. It should be gently heated to release the adhesive. You may find an ice scraper useful to help gently lift the tape.
  • If the tape cools, gently re apply heat to loosen the grip tape and slowly peel the old design off.
  • The old grip tape if removed slowly should come off in one piece.
  • With a clean damp cotton based cloth clean and dry the deck to remove any dirt or residue. Some adhesive may remain which can usually be covered by your new deck tape. Ideally you just need a smooth and clean surface to lay the new grip tape onto.
  • Turn your new grip tape design over and apply heat until the grip becomes warm (30 secs - 1 min) gentle heating works best. The grip should not be over heated.
  • Peel the backing off and immediately apply to the deck (you will be able to quickly manoeuvre into place) use a dry cloth to push the deck tape smoothly into position and avoid air bubbles.
  • Once you are happy with the position of your new grip tape gently apply further heat over the top of it and use a dry cloth to rub over the grip tape to ensure a secure adhesion.
  • Your new grip tape is completed.
