Micro Kickboard Reloaded Griptape: Black

Removing and applying the grip tape
  • Put the scooter on a bench or table so that you can work at a comfortable height.
  • Wearing protective gloves, take a hair dryer/heat gun and gently apply continual warm heat to the existing deck grip.
  • Start to peel at the corners taking care that the deck is not too hot. It should be gently heated to release the adhesive. You may find an ice scraper useful to help gently lift the tape.
  • If the tape cools, gently re-apply heat to loosen the grip tape again and slowly peel the old design off.
  • The old grip tape if removed slowly should come off in one piece.
  • With a clean damp cotton based cloth, clean and the dry the deck to remove any dirt or residue. Some adhesive may remain which can usually be covered up by your new deck tape. Ideally you just need a smooth and clean surface to lay the new grip tape onto.
  • Turn your new grip tape design over and apply heat until the grip tape becomes warm (30 secs to1 min) - gentle heating works best. The grip tape should not be over heated.
  • Peel the backing off and immediately apply to the deck (you will be able to quickly manoeuvrer into place). Using a dry cloth, push the deck tape smoothly into position and avoid air bubbles
  • Once you are happy with the position - gently apply further heat over the top of the grip tape and using a dry cloth rub over the grip tape to ensure a secure adhesion
